BETTER BUY MILES.™
Our story, ambitions and vision.

How it began.
The idea for Better Buy Miles came about when…
The idea for Better Buy Miles came about when two rowing buddies, Andrew Brown and Tim Down, were discussing how difficult it was to identify just how local things really were in shops and restaurants.
Many retailers etc claim to be using local produce and suppliers, but there was no easy universal way for a customer to see straightaway how many miles away the retailers’ suppliers actually were, until Tim and Andrew came up with the Better Buy Miles idea and logo.
This simple Trademarked logo solves that problem by showing the customer exactly how many miles away the supplier or producer is from the point of sale. This allows the customer to easily make the choice to support their local suppliers and producers, rather than unknowingly choosing a supplier or producer from further away.
Joined recently by Andrew’s son Matthew, the guys at Better Buy Miles are extremely passionate about not just supporting local retailers, suppliers and producers, but actually helping them to compete against the large multinational chains and online retailers. Ok, the big retailers are needed in today’s world, but all high streets and communities need the small independent retailer, suppliers and producers to flourish if they are to survive. That is why the Better Buy Miles Logo includes a pair of shaking hands which represent the human contact during any local purchase, rather than a few faceless clicks of a mouse.
We hope you will agree that selecting products showing this logo will help you support your local retailers, suppliers, and producers to not just survive but thrive, allowing you to make purchasing decisions that are Better Buy Miles.
